Bunker Bash 2011

To be held over the weekend of 20th-22nd May 2011, Cold War Provost will attend on the afternoon of 19th May, and stay all weekend: Purpose of Cold War Provost Attendance: Live Traffic Control, Training, and display shakedown.

The event will, as last time, be held at the Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker site. Accomodation will be tented, and members should bring full field kit and Barrack Dress.

Orders of Dress for this event:

WEATHER
ORDER OF DRESS
(see the Kit & Equipment page for information on Orders of Dress)
Dry
No 14 Barrack Dress (Shirt Sleeves Order)
(With Jacket, Patrol, Reversible, "Military Police")
Wet
No 14 Working Dress (Shirt Sleeves Order)
(With HV Tabbard, "Military Police", and Sleevelets, High Visibility)
Alternate Wet Weather Dress
No 8 Combat Dress (Shirt Sleeves order)
(With HV Tabbard, "Military Police", and Sleevelets, High Visibility)

You are likewise highly recommended to bring fully packed CEMO as well.

Given last two years years events, and the weather involved (Everything from belting it down with rain to boiling high sun), waterproofs and spare dry boots would also be a belting good idea - as will factor five million sun cream!

Those attending should notify Sgt Stenning asap, for their opins/joining instructions packet to be forwarded to them in good time.

Exercises

The regular monthly Chatham Militaria Fair Recruiting Exercises will carry on, where professional commitments permit, on the first or second Sunday of each month, unless cancelled through further P1 Orders. Note that regular attendance of Senior members is problematic through professional scheduling commitments.

Admin Orders

With effect from 1st May 2011, and until 1st September 2011, Shirt Sleeves orders of dress variants may be worn, except that no jacket may have its sleeves rolled: Only shirts may have their sleeves rolled. Jerseys must be worn betwen 1830 hrs and 0600 hrs.

For Cold War Provost purposes, the badge is to be worn above the left chest pocket of the outermost worn layer, the base of the badge just above the top of the pocket, and centrally in line with the centreline of the pocket, as per the image to the right, showing shirt sleeve order with the badge.

Warning Orders

  • Operation Adler

We have been approached for a one-off event to take place in Germany in 2012; discussions and arrangements are in the initial stages, but a maximum turn-out will be required should we move forward with this event. The date has been tentatively set for 12th May 2012.

Please make a note of this date in your diaries; given the logistics, it is currently considered that the coverage of this should extend from Friday 11th May 2012 through Monday 14th May 2012, so as to allow for transit to and from the event, and sufficient recovery time after the event for the purposes of our day jobs and professional livelihoods.

This Warning Order will be updated as soon as a firm commitment to the event has been agreed.
