Deployments
Operation ADLER
Operation ADLER, the CWP involvement with the Celebratory
running of the British Military Train by 'Train Of Events',
is scheduled for the weekend of 10th through the 14th May
2012. No joining Instructions have yet been received from
ToE; Cpl Ives is liasing with ToE on this issue.
Chatham Militaria Fair
The regular monthly Chatham Militaria Fair Recruiting Exercises
will carry on, where professional commitments permit, on the
first or second Sunday of each month, unless cancelled through
further P1 Orders. Note that regular attendance of Senior
members is problematic through professional scheduling commitments.
Admin Orders
Shirt Sleeve Order
With effect from 1st May 2011, and until 1st September 2012,
Shirt Sleeves orders of dress variants may be worn, except
that no jacket may have its sleeves rolled: Only shirts may
have their sleeves rolled. Jerseys must be worn betwen 1830
hrs and 0600 hrs.
Orders of Dress - New Restrictions
With effect from May 2012, at the request of RMP RHQ, the
following orders of uniform are prohibited from regular CWP
wear unless so noted in Part 1 & 2 orders or specific
event Operational Instructions:
- No. 1 - Ceremonial Dress ("Blues")
- No. 2 - Service Dress
- No. 13/14 - Barrack Dress
While no reason would normally be given in these instructions,
in this case an exception to the rule is warranted: These
Orders of Dress are current issue for RMP personnel who may
be attending events where the Army is taking part. It is conceivable
that we might be dressed in exactly the same way for some
Living History events, thus the use of these orders of dress
would be confusing for the gereral public, at best. Such confusion
is obviously to be avoided at all times, and RMP RHQ has requested
that we avoid, where possible, the possibility of such confusion.
There are two annual exceptions to this instruction:
- November:
Remembrance, where the wearing of No 2 Dress is authorised
at the Chatham Militaria Fair only, and
- December
For the Christmas 'End of Term' gathering, again
at the Chatham Militaria Fair, where No 14 Barrack Dress
is authorised.
At all other events, the general rule is now that No. 13/14
Working or No 8. Combat Dress will be the accepted Orders
Of Dress, unless otherwise noted in specific event Operational
Instructions.
The Chatham Militaria Fair Standing Orders will be amended
to suit this instruction.
General Instruction - Campaign
and Service Medals and Ribbons:
Those members awarded with Campaign Medals and/or Service
Medals during their Service with HM Forces are authorised
to wear them with the appropriate Orders of Dress. Examples
of such might include General Service medals, Theatre medals,
and such like.
At no time shall a member wear any Campaign Medal (including
Ribbons) or Service Medal (including Ribbons) that the member
was not awarded and permitted to wear on duty during his or
her time in the HM Armed Forces.
Group Leadership may require to see Proof of Entitlement
in some cases, and members should be prepared to produce such
proofs as may be required, before medals and/or ribbons
are worn. The rule of thumb here is: "If you didn't
earn a gong, don't wear it".
This instruction will be passed into Group Rules and Standing
Orders in due course.
