Forum Userbars

There are many groups that maintain internet bulletin boards - so-called forums - where members regularly 'chat' by posting comments and topics of interest to each other. One of the ways to stand out from the crowd - and help advertise your hobby - these days when using such internet-based forums is to use what are now commonly known known as "Userbars".

A common Cold War Provost format has been devised, in case you can't come up with a suitable userbar of your own, or lack the graphics capabilities to generate one for yourself.

Likewise, a series of Forces 80 userbars, EMLRA (Ex-Military Land Rover Association), and C.20 userbars, have also been devised.

Remember: Only use the appropriate userbar(s) that you're entitled to!

To use the Userbars:

  1. Right Click and "Save As" to your hard drive.
  2. Find webspace that you can upload your image to, and note the web address (URL) that you loaded it to.
  3. In your Control Panel on the C.20 forums, go to the "Signature" field, and add the text:

where "http://www.your-web-space.com/"is the web space you have access to, and
"imagename.gif" is the filename of the userbar in question.
  4. If you want the userbar to be an imagelink to a website, then use the following:

where "http://www.your-web-space.com/"is the web space you have access to, and
"imagename.gif" is the filename of the userbar in question.
  5. Have fun with your new Userbar!
